The BT Norstar Meridian Range has three systems, The Compact, 824 and 0x32 Modular with handsets common to all. The Norstar Meridian was introduced by BT to the UK in the early nineties and has been very successful. BT Meridian Norstar is an advanced telephone system designed for the needs of small and medium businesses and branches of larger organisations.

BT Norstar Compact

The range starts with the BT Norstar Compact (later superceded by the Compact Plus, see information below) which has an initial 4 lines 8 extensions configuration and a total capacity of 6 lines 16 extensions. The BT Norstar Compact is a highly featured keysystem and accepts its own range of telephone handsets (listed below) and single line telephones and devices (SLTs) via an Analogue Terminal Adaptor (ATA).

The system accepts analogue (PSTN) lines only.

BT Norstar Compact CCU

 

BT Norstar Meridian 824

The BT Norstar 824 is the next system which as its name implies has a initial configuration of 8 lines by 24 extensions with a maximum of 80 lines 120 extensions. Uses the same telephone handsets as the BT Compact. Analogue (PSTN) lines only.

 

BT Norstar 0x32 Modular

The BT Norstar 0x32 Modular is pre-configured for 0 lines 32 extensions and can be upgraded to a maximum of 188 ports by adding trunk and extension cards. Can support either ISDN 30 or analogue lines (PSTN) dependant on cards fitted.

 

The BT Norstar Compact Plus

Replacement to the BT Norstar Compact the BT Norstar Compact Plus is supplied as a 0 line 16 extension system can support ISDN 2 (up to 8 channels) or analogue lines (up to 8). Has one ATA port that supports a single line device such as a cordless phone, external bell, answering machine or fax.
